Fashion for Me – 15 or 150?

June 17, 2008

Since my loyal readers haven’t emailed in any street fashion photos as of yet (I know you’re out there!), I’m want to touch on something that has plauged me through the last 4 years. I’m 30 years old.(yes world, I have hit middle-age). I’m not 15 years old. I’m not 150 years old. So then why is it that all of the shopping locations around me try to force me into clothes that are?Forever 21 dress

Just last week, I went shopping for some clothes for work. I’m an executive in a nonprofit organization. I don’t want to wear low-cut, skin tight dresses to work (thanks anyways, Forever 21). I also don’t wish to wear elastic-waist, mint green pantsuits (courtesy of Sears). I want something form-fitting and Pantsuit, courtesy of JC Penneyfashionable, yet classy and work-appropriate.

Obviously, since I’m the author of this blog, I’m not keen on visiting online boutiques and spending $300 on my next chic suit. I just want classic, simple, and stylish. And I want to be able to try it on before I buy it. In such a modern world, is that too much to ask?

Until next time, keep shopping my fashionista friends and keep me in mind the next time you find fashion perfection at a price you can afford.
